I performed at the 15th annual Winter Walk in Hudson, NY in the store of a friend from NYC who recently opened her own shop. This clip really shows the spirit and energy of audience. People walked up and down Warren St, closed off to traffic for the event.

The Chosen Voices a fantastic Doo-Wop group, waiting for the uptown 1 at Columbus Circle 59th street, gave NYCSubwayGirl a special performance. They usually perform in the cars. I've followed them as long as I can remember. They brighten my day.

About a year ago they pushed a flasher off a car who was sitting right next to me. I was oblivious because I was watching the guys sing, but as they got closer they stopped smiling and I thought, that's odd. Then they yelled at the guy and so I turned to see what the fuss was about, luckily we were already at a stop and they shoved him out yelling, "that's disgusting." Before the group came by and disrupted the scene, no one else had said a thing. And I wondered why when I got on the car people looked at me strange-because I sat down right next to the guy. And that's NY folks.

I kept a 10 year old promise to take my niece Sara to France for High School graduation. In Ramatuelle visiting friends, I sang in an empty church circa 1620, (on market day) the acoustics were amazing. And wandering through the sights of Paris of course we took the metro. I was able to capture a few subway performers.

Take the pups to work day

Jordan took the pups to meet me at LIRR, Pennsylvania Station while I was performing. Dogs aren't allowed in the subways, but LIRR is open from the street. It was the first time they came to see me and it made me smile.

Jordan Starr is a fine art, B&W film photographer he's working on a documentary of NYC buskers, now he's part of the story.
Hunter college students, Ingelou and Gila two women from Holland, came by and filmed me at Grand Central Shuttle recently, they had great questions and even captured a spontaneous jam from trumpeter David who was playing down the corridor. They also feature other NYC subway musicians. They did a wonderful job of capturing the feeling of being a subway musician.

Art For Animals benefit November 19. 2010 at club Helsinki in Hudson, NY with Laurie Anderson, her dog Lolabelle, Joy Askew and Ana Milosavljevic. A song I wrote at the age of 12. "A Little Match Girl" aka Doggy Bo

The still photos are by Geraldine Petrovic who drove from southern NJ to Hudson to capture the event. She drove all the way home afterwards so that her pooch Zazou wouldn't be alone for the night. Now that's dedication and unconditional love. Thanks Geraldine.

Update: The clips are from last year, sadly the 2010 holiday light show in Grand Central Station is a no-show as they couldn't find a corporate sponsor!! No kidding. Proof: here's a folksy hand written sign at the customer service booth.
