Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 9:52PM I love to share the music of other musicians whom I discover as I travel throughout the city. Enjoy the sounds of Moon Hooch.
I discovered Moon Hooch playing outside at Columbus Circle. They play an amazing brand of house music with the uncharacteristic instrumentation of drums and two saxophones. They call it "Cave Music–It's like House, but its more wild, more jagged, more free, more natural to live in." Cool stuff!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 5:12PM I came upon Kathy Deane and Jody Rubel from the group Sister Monk performing in Grand Central. They enjoy performing with the Music Under New York program when they aren't touring around.
Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:45PM It's always great to chat with another Music Under New York musician. I passed by Natalie playing in Penn Station (LIRR) singing her song Sweet July and she took a minute to chat with me about what inspires her. She's now living in California. We certainly miss her voice in the NYC transit stations.

Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:43PM Richie Kaye and Tony Lavorgna came to play after my set in the Graybar corridor of Grand Central and we chatted about their inspirations. Paul stopped to listen as he was leaving his shift working in the Graybar building, and he shared how Richie and Tony's music inspires him. A sound which can bring you right back to another time and place.

Performing in the Graybar corridor of Grand Central Staion, I discovered INTI and the Moon, a trio led by guitarist Geovanni Suquillo, with Fatih Tabboushe-percussion and Muammer Aryar-Guitar. Geo has been with the Music Under NY program for many years and I am always thrilled to find him performing. He has a way of collaborating with other musicians that makes his music sound fresh and organic.
Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 1:36PM I met Ray Blue at 57th st on the downtown R/Q platform. He was blowing away on his tenor. We chatted. here's a little slice of a subway performer's life.
Monday, May 14, 2012 at 1:48PM One of the treasures of the Music Under New York program is Agua Clara. I was passing through 34th street last week and there they were, sounding so joyful, musical and lovely. I always like to film other performers and usually edit clips down to 1 minute or so, but this one speaks for itself. The camaraderie of seeing another busker like myself as they acknowledge and smile is a fun part of the underground musical community. Performing in public spaces is such a wonderful way to share our art.
Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 8:39PM 14th st platform I saw ReJimi performing on my way to my subway gig up on the next level. Music is everywhere underground. I loved his smile and attitude. His sign caught my eye "Love will conquer all"
